Becoming a Member
Hotels wishing to become a member should contact our Member Services department at: members@selectsmallhotels.com. You should provide us with details on your hotel and the link to your website. While we don't have strict product standards, all our hotels provide superior service, have clean and well maintained facilities and offer their guests an unforgettable experience.
Membership Criteria
The property must be owner-operated, or managed and operated as if it is.
The property should be the primary business of the owner/operator.
The property must have been in operation for at least two years (this criteria may be reduced depending on prior experience of the owner in the hospitality industry).
The property must have a minimum of four guestrooms and a maximum of one hundred guestrooms.
The property must pass the Quality Assurance inspection, and be fully licensed according to the applicable government regulations.
A guest-only common area should be provided. This may be a bar, lounge or games room.
If the property offers meals, all meals must be pleasant dining experiences. If meals are not provided on the premises, quality regional dining must be readily available in the area, preferably within walking distance.
Personal hospitality is the touchstone of being a Select Small Hotel, and this quality will be of the utmost importance in evaluating new members.
The overriding objective of Select Small Hotels is to admit properties that will materially enhance the overall quality of the group.
It is required that each member participate in the distribution of the Group Directory by placing a copy in each guest room and referring guests to other member properties. Owners should also be willing to attend occasional meetings and to share their expertise with other members.
Occasions may arise when it is in the best interest of Select Small Hotels to waive one or more of these criteria.
